Dr Shiva Murthy N. MBBS, MD, MBA.,

Founder president of MPS and Associate Professor, Dept of Pharmacology, CDSIMER.

 

Brief Introduction:

 

Dr. Murthy holds a Masters degree with first rank in Pharmacology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He also holds a Masters degree in Business Management from Sikkim Manipal University.

 

Dr. Murthy brings his 21+ years of experience in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Drug development with hands on experience in different areas such as Clinical operation (BA/BE studies and Clinical trials 1-4 phases), Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory and Quality management. He worked in reputed companies such as  Novo Nordisk, Lotus lab (a Teva group of company), Jubilant Life sciences, Quartesian Clinical Research, Fortis Clinical Research, Notrox Research, Semler Research Centre etc. The trials conducted and data generated were submitted to and audited by various national and international regulatory agencies such as DCGI, USFDA, EMA, ANVISA,MHRA, etc.

 

Dr Murthy also experienced as teacher in reputed Medical education institutions such as St. John's medical college Bangalore, MGMCRI Pondicherry and DM WIMS Wayanad etc. He is currently working at Department of Pharmacology, Dr Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER), Bangalore.

 

Dr Murthy also working on various social and professional development activities. He is the founder president of Medical Pharmacologists Society (MPS) and deeply involved in development of the society. He is also life member of Indian Pharmacologists Society (IPS), Indian Society of Clinical Research (ISCR) and also a reviewer for Indian Journal of Pharmacology (IJP). He worked as the advisory board member for Clinical Trial Magnifier (CTM), an online journal published by Clinical Trials Center, The University of Hong Kong.

 

Dr Murthy is actively in involved in research activities and having good number of publications and scientific presentations to his credit. His projects and submissions received awards from various regulatory, scientific and research bodies including Research Society Merit Certificate at St John's medical college, 3rd prize for the oral presentation at Southern Regional Conference of Pharmacologists of Indian Pharmacology Society, 1st  prize for pharmacovigilance related short movie issued by NCC-IPC under PVPI, Govt of India and appreciation letter from judges of Viajaya Karnataka short movie contest season III.
